12 Jan 24 an appointment with a bowel consultant he told me I needed an operation asap
Surgery booked for the 22nd Jan 2024
12 Jan pre-op at the hospital, 2hrs later visit the ward I will be on, told on the procedure, what I need to do what they can do to help me whilst I am there.
22nd Jan operation takes place, all the surgery staff where fantastic and helpful. Evening of the operation wake up all good, operation went well and was given a light meal to eat (really ok I ate as much as I could)
2 Feb release from hospital, my bowel decided to take it's own sweet time waking up but hey ho it's been messed about with !
It all happened so fast and I am so greatful to all the NHS staff for their dedication, compashion and sheer hard working attitude. To those that thinks our NHS is failing then I can only say that from were I was lying it's doing great.
They have supported me when I needed it and I will support them as I always have, it is a jewel that is available to all and other countries look on and say "how do they do it?"
They do it because they care, they work 12Hr shifts because they care, they have bad days because they care!
