I have been using Tulis Heel cups in all of my shoes and trainers for years, I started using them when I played competition squash and noticed my heel was getting bruised and sore.
Did some research and found that Tulis heel cups have a lifetime warranty. They have saved my heals they could help you! You can get them from a lot of retailers for about £9 just do a search on line for Tulis Heel Cups. Cheers! Hope this helps! daveg Interesting response to this question: After stringing a racket what do you use to test the tension?26/5/2015 Okay I started out looking for a "Stringer" in the north west area to do an urgent restring for my brothers racket, I contacted a number of stringers, asked a few questions and the response to one question really has me worried. I asked them after they had strung the racket what they used to check the tension or dynamic tension of the racket? Here is the list of most used: 1. You cannot check the tension of a strung racket 2. Why would I check it as the stringing machine sets the tension 3. Why would I want to test it? 4. Those things don't work To answer each one in turn: 1. Yes you can and here are 4 items that will do it Stringmeter Cost about £26 ERT300 professional Dynamic tester system cost £165 Mini SST Cost about £50 2.3. Why would I check as the stringing machine sets the tension?
To see if you have any clamp slippage, string puller slippage or the your machine is pulling at the correct tension. Also to have a reference point for when you check the racket at a later date to see how much tension is lost! 4. All of the above, The string tension you read on anyone of these items is now your reference tension (as above) and if you use the same piece of equipment to measure at a later date then you can see the tension loss. So my advice to anyone before getting a restring carried out ask the stringer this question: After you have strung my racket what do you use to test and record the Dynamic tension? I will leave you to decide (depending on the response)if you want to use that stringer. Cheers! Daveg Pro's Pro Hexaforce Pro's Pro Hexaforce is a synthetic tennis string using a hexagonal cross section to deliver outstanding performance. The specially coated string core is wrapped with filament layers, ensuring high elasticity. Built-in spiral thread in two colours to choose from, results in a rough surface for better spin potential. Gauge: 1.30mm / 16 Colour: Silver or Gold Ok here is the scenario, lady player wants to improve her serve, would like to learn a topspin serve.
Now most lady players have never learnt to “Throw” a ball at something, think baseball pitcher, or a Quarterback throwing a ball to an outside receiver. The action is the same a “throwing “motion! To learn the serve we used to “Throw” rackets over the court fence into a target area! But introduce a speed gun and all changes! The player is now focused on the Speed of the serve and is trying to “throw” everything at the ball to increase the pace! Yes the serve gets a little faster but what the observer notices is the serve is now going into the service box with “venom” 80% of the balls were going in on the first serve ! So the moral of this is, measure what you should measure and introduce the measure that will produce the required outcome! Hope this helps! Daveg My number one best buy: Wise 2086 Electronic Tension Head I have had my Wise 2086 Electronic tension head for over 10 Years, It has only failed once in that time but has completed 10 of hundred's string "pulls" ! My number Two best buy: The Custom Side supports for badminton, and the Custom Tennis side supports. These free up the stringing area, no blocked holes and hold the racket in place better that the original supports My Number Three best buy: The String Puller This is so simple yet can save so much time and hassle on Shared holes. Buy a good one and it will last for years! Dynamic Tension is what you feel when you hit a tennis ball, so when you get a restring and you say I like this, this is because the Dynamic Tension (DT) is correct for you. The factors that have to be taken into account to get to the correct DT: Gender, age, Type of hitting (with spin or without), Type of string (string stiffness factor), Arm injuries, Racket head size, string patterns. All these factors have to be worked out to give you the Dynamic Tension that suits you. With the addition of the Beers ERT 300 tension tester, the Tension Advisor and my Racquet tune programs I can now work out the different string combinations / Tensions / and racket sizes to give you the same Dynamic Tension (DT) every time. note:-The Dynamic Tension (DT) is also known as the String Bed Stiffness (SBS) Daveg I have been using the Pointfore Premier PU grip on both my Tennis and Squash rackets, notice they have the ventilation holes which help dry the grip. I have been very pleased with these grips and will stock these as well as: Karakal PU grip Pro's Pro Aero Cushion grip (can be used as an overgrip or as a replacement grip All prices are the same £2.50 fitted Yes it has arrived the stringers main source of income! The SPIN (open string pattern) racket it maybe a 16m x 15c or any combination of less crosses than the normal 19 but it is great for the stringer but not so for the player.
The strings will last a maximium of 12 playing hours because of the wear on the strings that produces the movement that produces the spin ! That movement means that the strings are being sawed to pieces! But there has been a racket that has been available that produces more and is very easy on the strings, before you try a New Spin racket (open string pattern) try out a PowerAngle racket it will give you at least 3 x times the string life of the "NEW Spin rackets"! and it is far better for your arm! I have tried both types and guess which one I still use? PowerAngle the number one choice of spin/control players! Oh and it is also a powerful racket! Quote: I have known a lot of players that have changed TO a PowerAngle racket but NONE who have changed from a PowerAngle racket! There is one racket in the range for you! Hope this helps! Daveg |
