I am a big fan of Pro's Pro strings I have used their Badminton, Squash and Tennis strings before and have always been impressed, Their strings always seem well produced and can meet or exceed strings that are triple the price!
This is what Pro's Pro say of the string :
This latest shaped co-polyester string has been created for the modern aggressive player who demands the most extreme spin and control. In a patented method, Devil Spin features a twist that is about 250% tighter and more pronounced than conventional twisted strings.
The rough texture increases ball bite while being very comfortable and playable.
Ok reel has arrived and I have just finished stringing one of my Powerangle rackets. (@53Ibs (Dynamic Tension measured at 53Ibs )
First impression when stringing:
1: String is stiff
2: The twist is manufactured on a round profile string
3: Kinks very easy (be careful!)
4: Could use this string as a "wire saw blade" it is so rough (might not be a bad thing as it should grip the ball!)
Ok now I will let the racket and string settle for 24 hrs and then measure the Dynamic Tension for the tension loss.
24 hrs later and the DT is 47Ibs so we have dropped 6Ibs in 24hrs
(a racket will lose it's maximum in the first 24hrs and then lose a small amount every day)
Next how it plays:
Nice positive feel and very accurate on the serves, does give more spin and feel.
Nice bite on the ball, ground strokes have a pronounced dip at the end and catch people out :-)
After 3 hrs play no notching on the strings and no wear!
Maybe a bit less power than I am used to but I could take a couple of pounds off the tension to help.
A really nice string, lots of control, lots of spin and very easy to play with.
Yet another string I like and will keep in stock!
Will need another "string cupboard" at this rate!
Just restrung my Wilson Steam 99S (spin) Racket with this string, I will play with this tonight and see how we get on!
Wow the serves with this string and this racket, I have never hit so many aces!
For me this is a good combination control, power and feel, the racket feels clunky compared to my Powerangle (my fault not the racket) But a very good combination!
I played singles and doubles (both men's ) and this could work, just need to get used to the racket, I think it is the swing weight that I have to adjust to, more than anything!
Back to the string yep it is a "keeper" I'm going to use this in both my rackets and see how it goes!
Try it! it is worth it!
