They are:
Pro's Pro Devil Spin
PolyStar Classic
PolyStar Energy
I am going to do a 3 string test with them (I have 3 Powerangle racket available)
I will string and test them on the same day so that the conditions are the same.
I should weather permitting be able to test them on Saturday watch this space !
Sorry for the delay, I have spent some time retesting the my favourite strings to find out which is the best.
This was hard because each string has some great properties and and each string has a weakness.
I cannot list them in order of 1,2,3 but what I will do is tell you the good points of each string:
Pro's Pro Devil Spin:
This string gives you the control, spin and power. You notice this straight away the ball goes in the spot you want, the spin is really good and it feels comfortable for a poly.
The downside is when the string profile becomes smooth then you lose Spin and control, that happens after about 8-10 hours of play.
PolyStar Classic:
This string also give you control, spin , power and the comfort,
Not as much spin and control as Devil Spin but not bad at all.
The main standout feature is the Power and Comfort (grouping them as this is what this string is about) it is so nice to play with. The Spin/Control is still there (not as much as Devil Spin)
The other good feature is that the sting will stay in the usable tension range longer it is good for about 12- 15 hours .
PolyStar Energy:
Wow, this would have been top of the list but it really is a "competition" string, It has everything and is so good!
but it's tension loss is massive, within 90 mins of play it became unpredictable, what was a Rolls Royce became
an MOT failure .
but that said if you play with 5-6 rackets in a competition it works so well, just make sure you are not paying for the restrings!
* Just retested this string and the tension loss was better, I tried pre-tentioning the string before stringing and it seems to help with the tension maintenance.
hope this helps !
