Luxilon Alu Power Rough 1.25

Just restrung one of my Powerangle rackets with Luxilon Alu Power Rough, I will be playing tomorrow so will write a Play Test report.
Ok I've played this morning with this string, more bite and spin,but I did not have the control (but that could have been me as I haven't played for two weeks!) The string doesn't feel harsh, I will carry one plying with it to see what the tension maintenance is like. Will update as I go along.
Ok played last night (Doubles) this string gets better after the first hour of play, more spin, bite on the ball and the control is there (must have been me!)
Also did 30 mins on the ball machine this morning and yes the string is playing well, could only do 30 mins as the temperature was edging towards 30 degrees.

String: Shaped Synthetic string to test

Now that the weather is turning colder and wetter it seemed a good time to test a softer string, I wanted to try a "shaped" synthetic string and so I have strung one of my Powerangle Centric's with what looks like a hexagonal shaped synthetic at 55Ibs.
The Dynamic Tension is DT36
"Dynamic Tension DT is a measurement of what you feel when you hit a tennis ball"
I normally play with a DT of 34 but I expect the initial DT to drop from 36 to about 34 within 24HRs.
We shall wait and see.
I will update this blog as we go !
24hours later and the DT has dropped to 35 so not a big drop in tension, about a 6% loss in tension.
(more than happy with that)
Now if only the rain would stop!
Right rain stopped off to club night!
Played mixed doubles tonight with the Shaped Synthetic really impressed, More power soft feel and still has the spin potential, not as positive as a poly string but that is what I expected and wanted for the winter, Serves are going in faster and kicking more, hit a few drives out in the warm up but quickly adjusted. Unusual for me to like the softer feel but I do like it. Dam the rain is back and heavy: to be continued.
Right played singles this morning outdoor chilly but dry, new balls Dunlop Fort.
Using the same set up Powerangle Centric and Shaped Synthetic:
Drive and serves going well, compared to Polyester a little less positive but more comfortable with more cushion, (ball pocketing) the shaped synthetic does give more control and spin.
the tension maintenance is very good still on DT 35 so no more tension loss after the initial drop.
So this set up has given me exactly what I required, softer feel, a bit more power, just right for cold and wet tennis :-)

Well here is my Powerangle racket all strung up with Pro's Pro Solar ready for testing:
Stringing with Solar is very easy, nice soft string no kinking, just a hint of bite when pulling tension on the crosses so maybe we will get some spin potential ? (Also strung a Wilson Blade 98 with this string) If the rain eases of I might get to the courts tonight.
Got to the courts with the Ball Machine hit around 1200 balls really like this string nice feel, string seems to bite on the ball as well, power is there very good. If you don't like the feel of a polyester string try this string out, it's very good!
